Like Trees Planted Along A Riverbank

Like Trees Planted Along A Riverbank

We, like trees, need healthy roots that reach deep into Living Water. Living water is pictured in Ezekiel as flowing from under the Temple of God, and in Revelation as a River of Life proceeding out of the throne of God. Jesus also speaks of Living Water, saying, “Whoever believes in Me, as scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” And so, how are your roots? Are they healthy and reaching into and drinking deep from Living Water? “And so, Lord, where do I put my hope?”

The Voice of Wisdom

The Voice of Wisdom

I recently discovered that what I thought was distraction… was something altogether different! Shakespeare said, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”, but I discovered that there was power in calling “distraction” by its real name.

You see, I discovered I wasn't distracted at all! I was naturally going to the thing that I instinctively knew I needed in that moment!

It was a powerful realisation. It was a significant "AHA" moment! It was as simple as a small change in wording, but it was truth and from that time forward everything was different!

Perhaps the time is now for your own "AHA" moment?

Social Media. The Good. The Bad. The Ugly.

Social Media. The Good. The Bad. The Ugly.

I have been thinking about social media. The good. The bad. The ugly. I am thankful for the opportunities social media brings into my world. To be encouraged. To encourage others. To share our stories and how God shows up for us in His goodness and His faithfulness. To connect with amazing people from all over the world. Amazing people like Tam who sent me this amazing package from across the globe! A package that arrived the night before we went into lockdown and launched into remote learning. A package that reminds me of significant encounters I have had with God over the years! I have much to be grateful for on social media. But there is a flip side. A dark side that if left unchecked can have devastating consequences. We need to be wise and diligent. Where is your scrolling leading you?

The lost are found! (The Vanishing: Part 2)

The lost are found! (The Vanishing: Part 2)

Lately I’ve been thinking about the parable of The Lost Sheep. Lately I’ve been praying a lot for the lost. In my city. My nation. And beyond. For those who are God’s beloved children, but have not yet found their way back home to a relationship with their Father. The Father, who is like the shepherd looking for His lost lambs. The loving Father who celebrates their return home, into His arms, with exuberant joy and cheerful delight. Today I decree THE. LOST. ARE. FOUND.

Laughter. Breaking. Forth.

Laughter. Breaking. Forth.

What story is your laughter telling you today? My laughter tells me I have stepped out of winter. I have stepped into spring and onto summer. I can see the trees in blossom. I can see the trees are already bearing fruit amidst the blossom. I can hear the birds singing. I can feel the ground sprouting with new life. I can see that I am not the only one walking out of winter into spring and onto summer. I can hear the season of harvest that is now upon us… I hear our Bridegroom calling. How will we respond?
